Why is it always women who are portrayed as the ambitious, often promiscuous journalists?

Anyone else noticed this? I see far more male journalists in real life, but in movies and books the ambitious, career driven journalists are usually females who will often sleep around a lot, sometimes to fuck a story out of a man. Why is it women who are portrayed as the ambitious journalists when in reality there appear to be more male journalists? Please don't argue with me on this point, you're wasting people's time and being pedantic if you do. Oh. I expected intelligent answers. And my source? Just my observation.

2. Have you ever seen a real live journalist in action to make that statement ? I'm not talking about on tv , I mean real life !
3. Probably because female journalists are always trying to get into the guy's locker room to interview jocks in their towels. Male journalists, by contrast, are never trying to get into the women's locker room.
